Need An HDTV Converter Box Coupon?

All full-power TV stations in the U.S. switch from analog to 100% digital broadcasting at midnight February 17, 2009. Anyone wishing to use their existing analog TV to pick up the digital signal will need a converter box.

Converter boxes cost about $40-%50. To help households that want to keep using their analog TV sets after February 17, 2009, Congress created the TV Converter Box Coupon Program. The Program allows U.S. households to obtain up to two coupons, each worth $40, that can be applied toward the cost of eligible converter boxes.

Consumers generally have three options:
1. Keep your existing analog TV and purchase a TV converter box. A converter box plugs into your TV and will keep it working after Feb. 17, 2009.
2. Connect to cable, satellite or other pay service.
3. Purchase a television with a digital tuner.

If you would like to keep using an analog TV after February 17, 2009, check out the government HDTV Converter Box Coupon website and request your free HDTV coupon(s) now. But hurry, because the coupons will only be available until March 31, 2009 or while supplies last!
